My Journey with Mandalas
Each life journey differs .. mine has taken me closer to the study, understanding and appreciation of the Great Wheel of Life and encouraged me to share my knowledge with all who are eager to know.
I am a qualified teacher textile techniques, drawing and design. I was a bobbin-lace making teacher for 30 years and I worked happily with my craft for many years.
As with all of us, my Wheel of Life continued to turn and in 1997 I experienced some difficult negative energies which needed to be addressed. An article in an old Dutch “Onkruid Magazine” of 1985 about “Cross-stitching a Mandala as Meditation” caught my attention. I had always loved cross-stitching, so I found fabric and floss, and began my meditative journey. It helped me to find my way back to myself and peace. The recognition of the importance of the Mandala in my life had begun.
In order to share this experience and my growing passion, I started Mandala cross-stitch gatherings, with great results. Today I sell my Mandala patterns via our Etsy-shop.
My Wheel of Life continued to turn, and in my exploration of other ways to create Mandalas, the next step was drawing Birth Mandalas and I found my way into the design and creation of these.
Personal Birth Mandalas are a blueprint of our soul. They have a story to tell and a meaningful message to help with connection to the inner self.
A personal Mandala is also a good focal point during meditation. Working with Mandalas is, however, a meditation in itself.
I need only a name and birthdate to make a personal Birth Mandala for anyone. On order via e-mail, they find their way all over the world.
I have also recently been inspired to connect with smooth sea pebbles, to feel their energy and see what I can create with and on them. The great Wheel of Life continues to turn and this page enables me to share my passion for Mandalas with the world for enjoyment and inspiration, and to create for anyone who may wish to connect .. or help a beloved to connect... with this wondrous and life-giving circle.
There are many more things that I do. Together with my partner Manfred I make personal Conscious Drawings. In contrast to the bright colours used for the mandalas and the pebbles these drawings are black and white. We take turns on them.
The essence of a person comes forward in the Conscious Drawing. The drawing has a story to tell, it is a meaningful personal message that comes along with the drawing.
